Govt Assures Overseas Pakistanis of Property Protection in Islamabad

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has assured overseas Pakistanis that their property rights in Islamabad will be fully protected, with strict timelines set for action against illegal occupation.

In a tweet, the minister said that if any overseas Pakistani reports qabza or illegal occupation of property, the deputy commissioner of Islamabad is legally bound to decide the matter within seven days. He said no one will be allowed to take possession of property that is lawfully owned.

The minister said overseas Pakistanis’ investments in the Islamabad Capital Territory are welcome and valued, adding that the government is committed to providing a secure and investor-friendly environment.

He assured that swift and transparent action will be taken to safeguard assets of overseas investors, saying protection of property rights remains a top priority of the government.

The statement comes amid longstanding complaints from overseas Pakistanis about illegal occupation, delayed administrative action, and lengthy dispute resolution processes, particularly in urban centres.
