An insider who previously leaked accurate details about several major titles is now warning that the physical release of Grand Theft Auto VI may be delayed.
The game is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026. However, fans hoping to buy a boxed copy at launch may have to wait longer than those purchasing the digital version.
According to a report from Polish outlet PPE, insider Graczdari said that Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, does not plan to release a physical edition of GTA 6 at the same time as the digital launch.
The report said the decision is aimed at reducing the risk of leaks ahead of release. “We are getting more and more information that the box version will not be released simultaneously with the digital version to prevent leaks,” the report stated.
Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed details regarding the physical release timeline for GTA 6. Take-Two has also not commented publicly on whether boxed editions will launch later than digital versions.
