Qatar Announces Good News for Pakistani Doctors

Qatar has eased the medical licensing process for Pakistani doctors and surgeons by formally recognizing Fellowships awarded by the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP).

The Pakistani Embassy in Qatar confirmed that the Gulf state has approved both the First and Second Fellowships of CPSP, a decision expected to benefit Pakistani medical professionals seeking employment in the country.

Under the approval, doctors applying on the basis of a Second Fellowship must have already completed the relevant First Fellowship in their primary specialty.

Qatari authorities granted the recognition after assessing the academic standards and professional competencies of CPSP training programs.

As part of the decision, CPSP fellows will no longer be required to clear the Prometric examination, which will significantly speed up the licensing process and reduce procedural hurdles.

Officials said the move will expand job opportunities for experienced Pakistani doctors and surgeons in Qatar and strengthen professional cooperation between the two countries.
