Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz inaugurated a Daanish School in Mankera, Bhakkar, and launched the School Meal Program at Government Primary School Kisanwala, highlighting education and nutrition as essential for children’s future.
She upgraded Government Girls Primary School Kisanwala to an elementary school and promoted the elementary schools in Kari and Noorpur Shah to high school level, issuing immediate implementation orders.
Maryam Nawaz distributed lunch boxes, visited classrooms, and praised desks made from recycled milk cartons for their durability. At Daanish School Mankera, she toured the computer lab, library, and girls’ hostel, celebrated students’ birthdays, and encouraged children to work hard and stay confident.
Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat said the program recycles over 200,000 milk packs into furniture, notebooks, and pencils. Currently, 13,197 students attend 20 Daanish schools, while the School Meal Program runs in 8,319 schools across 13 districts, boosting enrollment by 28 percent.
Maryam Nawaz also condemned terrorist attacks in Balochistan and expressed condolences to families affected by the Lodhran bus-truck collision.
