The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a new auction of 40 exclusive vehicle number plates, providing citizens with another opportunity to display their personal, familial, tribal, or cultural identity on their vehicles.
According to the excise and taxation department on Monday, the auction will take place on February 14 at the Qayyum Sports Complex. This phase of the auction includes vehicle number plates that represent family names, tribes, regions, and broader cultural affiliations.
Some of the prominent vehicle number plates listed for bidding include Dawar, Hoti, Shinwari, Waziristan, Mehsud, Jadoon, Marwat, Khattak, Qadri, Pashtun, Sheikh, Khyber, Raja, and Awan. Officials noted that these names have already attracted significant attention from potential bidders due to their cultural and social significance.
The department said that certain vehicle number plates fall under the single-digit or special category, while others are available in limited quantity, creating intense competition among participants. The minimum reserve price for each vehicle number plate has been set at Rs. 1 million, and all allocations will be determined through an open bidding process.
Authorities have advised interested individuals to complete advance registration and adhere strictly to the guidelines issued by the excise and taxation department.
