Islamabad Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory for February 3, 2026, warning residents about possible congestion and directing commuters to alternate routes in the federal capital.
According to a spokesperson for the Islamabad Traffic Police, authorities will implement traffic diversions at multiple points on the Expressway, Murree Road, and Club Road between 5 pm and 6 pm. The diversions are likely to increase traffic pressure on the Islamabad Expressway and Faisal Avenue during that time.
The advisory advises commuters traveling from Rawalpindi to Islamabad to use Rawal Road, Ninth Avenue, Faqir Aipee Road, and Srinagar Highway. Motorists heading from Islamabad to Rawalpindi have been directed to travel via Zero Point and Srinagar Highway before merging onto Ninth Avenue.
For commuters traveling between Murree or Barakahu and Islamabad, traffic police have recommended using Korang Road, Bani Gala, Park Road, and Lehtrar Road. Meanwhile, travelers going from Serena or Barakahu to Rawalpindi have been advised to use Park Road, Lehtrar Road and Khanna Pul.
The traffic police spokesperson said citizens can contact Traffic Helpline 1915 or emergency service Pucar 15 for real time updates and guidance.
What is the reason for these diversions? None has been specified in the report.
Why
Because some people with status and power are traveling on road. How miserable they are already to be using a public road. So our chaprasis didn’t want to bother them with realities of life, like people and traffic, or God forbid a red traffic signal. Even our higher ups are slaves of others.
