Punjab to Launch Interest-Free Loan Scheme for Women

Punjab Industries and Commerce Minister Chaudhry Shafay Hussain has announced that the Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) will launch interest-free loan schemes for graduates of Women Business Incubation Centers and skilled artisans within the next two months.

Under the program, eligible applicants will receive interest-free loans of up to Rs500,000 to start or expand their businesses.

The minister said the initiative aims to strengthen women’s participation in business and remove financial barriers faced by entrepreneurs, especially in smaller cities.

He announced during a meeting with a delegation of the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) Gujrat at PSIC House, where both sides discussed measures to improve economic opportunities for women.

Shafay Hussain assured the delegation that the government would address their concerns on a priority basis, adding that sustainable economic growth requires the active participation of women in industry and commerce.

He also announced plans to establish a Business Facilitation Centre and a Women Business Incubation Centre in Gujrat.

The incubation center will provide technical and entrepreneurial training, while space will also be allocated for a dedicated WCCI Gujrat office to strengthen institutional support for women entrepreneurs.
