Karachi Kings have confirmed a direct signing for the upcoming Pakistan Super League season, adding a high-profile overseas player to their squad ahead of PSL 11.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the franchise announced the signing of England all-rounder Moeen Ali for Rs. 6.44 crore. The signing has been completed under the direct signing mechanism for PSL 11.
Karachi Kings said Moeen Ali will join the squad as part of their preparations for the league’s 11th edition, which will feature an auction-based player recruitment system for the first time in the tournament’s history.
Earlier, the franchise had announced the retention of four players ahead of the PSL 11 auction scheduled for February 11, 2026. Fast bowler Hasan Ali was retained in the Platinum category, while Abbas Afridi was secured in the Diamond category. All-rounder Khushdil Shah was retained in the Gold category, and wicketkeeper-batter Saad Baig was named in the Emerging category.
PSL 11 marks a major shift in team-building strategy, with franchises moving away from the traditional draft format to an auction system. Teams have begun strengthening their squads through retentions and direct signings ahead of the auction.
