Prices of cooking oil have recorded a sharp increase across Pakistan, adding further pressure on households already struggling with rising living costs.
Market data shows that over the past week, cooking oil prices have increased by as much as Rs. 60 per liter, pushing the retail price to Rs. 550 per liter.
Shopkeepers say cooking oil was previously available at Rs. 490 per liter, but prices rose due to a shortage in supply.
The latest hike has intensified financial stress for consumers, who are already facing higher prices for essential goods.
At the same time, flour prices have also increased, with a 5-kg bag of flour selling for Rs. 900, significantly higher than competing brands available in the market.
The increase comes amid broader inflationary trends in Pakistan, where the rising cost of essential food items continues to strain household budgets.

All it is because Holy Month of Ramzan is coming, so every commodity price will increase, showing false shortage.
But but but but pakistan rupee rises for 96th day doesn’t it lol 😆 😂 🤣 😜
it was already being sold at 550/liter since a long time, this news is too late.
