The District Education Authority (DEA) has issued a new directive aimed at improving attendance, punctuality, and monitoring in public schools.
According to the notification, it has been made mandatory for all government schools to take a group photograph of staff at 8:45 AM daily. The move is intended to ensure the presence of both teaching and non-teaching staff during school hours.
The order states that daily monitoring of teachers and non-teaching staff will be carried out. Schools have been instructed to take the group photo using the Canva camera app and attach it with the attendance register.
Under the new instructions, each school must compile the photographs into a single PDF file and send it via WhatsApp by 9:30 AM every day.
The directive further clarifies that headteachers will be responsible for submitting daily attendance reports of teaching and non-teaching staff to the relevant authorities.
The DEA has warned that strict disciplinary action will be taken against school heads who fail to comply with the orders.
