The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Health Department has made the meningitis vaccine mandatory for travelers heading abroad. All district health officers have been issued a formal notification regarding the requirement.
According to the notice, under the International Health Regulations 2005, passengers traveling to certain countries must receive the meningitis vaccine before departure.
Travelers will not be allowed to travel internationally without a valid vaccine certificate.
Health authorities have directed officials to issue vaccination certificates immediately to international travelers. Each certificate must include the vaccine brand, batch number, and expiry date, and arranging the vaccine will be the traveler’s personal responsibility.
The step comes as part of ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with international health regulations and prevent the spread of meningitis among travelers.
