The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a strong possibility of sighting the moon for Ramadan 1447 AH on February 18.
According to the department, the new moon will be born on February 17 at 5:01 p.m. Based on astronomical calculations, there are strong chances that the Ramadan crescent will be visible on the evening of February 18.
The department has also announced the final moon sighting times for different regions of the country. In Sindh, the last time to observe the moon will be 7:24 p.m. In Punjab, the sighting time will be until 7:08 p.m.
In Balochistan, the final moon sighting time has been set at 7:47 p.m. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the moon can be observed until 7:13 p.m.
For Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the sighting time will end at 6:58 p.m, while in Gilgit-Baltistan, the moon can be sighted until 6:53 p.m.
The Meteorological Department further stated that on the evening of February 18, the sky across most parts of the country is expected to remain clear or partly cloudy, increasing the likelihood of a successful moon sighting.
