Rawalpindi Announces Retained Players for PSL 11

Rawalpindi has officially confirmed its four retained players ahead of the 2026 Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) auction, finalizing its core lineup before the league’s historic player auction.

The franchise was given just 24 hours to announce its retained players as the league prepares for the Feb. 11 player auction.

Rawalpindi Retained Players

  • Muhammad Rizwan – Retained in the Platinum category for Rs. 56 million
  • Sam Billings – Retained in the Diamond category for Rs. 30.8 million
  • Zaman Khan – Retained in the Gold category for Rs. 11.2 million
  • Yasir Khan – Retained in the Silver category for Rs. 6 million

Under the revised PSL 11 retention policy, each franchise was allowed to keep up to four players, one in each category, before the auction. All unretained players will now enter the open auction pool, where they can be selected by any team.

PSL 11 marks a major shift in league structure, as it introduces a full auction system for the first time, replacing the traditional draft format. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) says the new system is designed to improve competitive balance, increase transparency, and create broader earning opportunities for players.

Rawalpindi’s entry into the league follows Walee Technologies’ record-breaking purchase of the Multan Sultans franchise rights for Rs. 245 crore. The new ownership group chose to relocate and rebrand the team as Rawalpindi, officially ending Multan’s tenure in the PSL and giving the twin cities their own franchise.

The upcoming season, which begins on March 26, will feature an expanded eight-team format, including the newly added Sialkot Stallionz and Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen.

With its four key players secured, Rawalpindi now heads into the auction with a defined foundation as it prepares for its first season under a new identity.
