The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast light snowfall in the country’s northern highlands while mainly cold and dry weather is expected to persist across most regions.
According to the Met Office, hilly areas will remain partly cloudy, with very cold conditions during the morning and night. Isolated locations in Gilgit-Baltistan may receive light rain and snowfall, while nearby northern districts such as Chitral and surrounding valleys could also see brief precipitation under cloudy skies.
In the federal capital Islamabad and adjoining areas, the weather is expected to stay dry, accompanied by chilly mornings and nights. Gusty winds are likely to develop during the daytime.
Most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will experience cold and dry conditions, with upper districts remaining especially cold during early and late hours of the day. Across Punjab, dry weather will dominate, while hill stations such as Murree and Galiyat are expected to stay cold and dry. Central and southern plains may see strong daytime winds.
In Karachi and the wider Sindh region, conditions will remain mostly dry. Balochistan is also likely to see dry weather in many districts, though northern parts of the province will face colder temperatures at night and in the early morning. Kashmir is expected to remain cold and partly cloudy, with very low temperatures during nighttime.
The PMD reported that over the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts of the country. Among the lowest temperatures recorded were −9°C in Leh, −5°C in Astore, and −3°C in Kalam, while several northern locations registered lows of −2°C.
Temperature ranges in major urban centers showed cool mornings followed by mild afternoons, reflecting the ongoing winter pattern. Officials say the current cold and dry spell is likely to continue in the coming days, with northern mountainous areas remaining the most vulnerable to snowfall and freezing conditions.
