French Embassy in Pakistan Warns Public Against Visa Scams

The French Embassy in Pakistan has issued a public warning after reports emerged of individuals falsely posing as French diplomatic officials to scam visa applicants.

In an official announcement, the embassy said fraudsters are impersonating the French consulate, the embassy, and even the ambassador to offer so-called assistance with visa applications. These individuals are reportedly charging hundreds of euros for services that have no connection whatsoever to the official visa process.

The embassy stressed that it never demands payments through unofficial means. All visa-related fees, it said, are collected only through authorized and official channels.

Applicants have been urged to remain vigilant and avoid sharing personal or financial information if contacted by suspicious individuals. The embassy advised victims or potential targets to immediately report such attempts to Pakistani authorities or contact the embassy directly using its official phone numbers: (+92) 51 201 14 14 or (+92) 51 201 15 75.

Officials also clarified that documents circulating online and presented by scammers as proof of legitimacy are completely fake.

According to the embassy, the forged papers do not originate from the Embassy of France in Pakistan, the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, or the French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons.

The embassy reiterated that applicants should rely only on official sources for visa information and warned that falling for such scams could result in financial loss and misuse of personal data.
