The Islamabad Traffic Police on Wednesday finalized a comprehensive traffic management plan for Ramadan to regulate traffic across the federal capital. More than 450 officers and personnel will perform duties at key locations to maintain smooth traffic flow and assist the public during the holy month.
Authorities will implement special arrangements around mosques, imambargahs, major markets, Ramadan Sahulat Bazaars, and Sunday and weekly bazaars where traffic volume increases. Officials will deploy additional personnel during peak hours of Sehri, Iftar, and Taraweeh to prevent congestion and ensure uninterrupted movement of vehicles.
The department will also manage parking outside places of worship and busy commercial centers, while coordinating with mosque and imambargah administrations to improve traffic control.
Special traffic squads will monitor Ramadan bazaars, Sunday bazaars, and major commercial areas. The department will set up help desks at important points after Iftar to guide citizens and address traffic-related concerns.
Senior officers, including the SP Traffic and zonal DSPs, will supervise operations in the field throughout Ramadan. Authorities have instructed personnel to maintain a professional and courteous attitude toward the public.
The department will launch a crackdown on one-wheeling, reckless driving, and other traffic violations after Sehri and Iftar. Officials have also finalized separate traffic and parking arrangements for Faisal Mosque to manage the expected increase in worshippers during Taraweeh prayers.
