A young girl from North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Aina Wazir, has gone viral on social media after a video of her fast-bowling skills gained widespread attention.

Identified as Aina Wazir, the daughter of a martyr from Tehsil Shewa, she impressed viewers during a local children’s cricket match.

The clip shows Aina Wazir confidently bowling alongside boys and displaying strong pace and control at a young age. Her performance quickly drew praise online, with many urging the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to recognize her potential and consider her for future development programs.

Javed Afridi, Chairman of Peshawar Zalmi, was among those who took notice. Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Afridi praised Aina’s exceptional skills and described her as a future star in the making.

“Mashallah! Aina Wazir is an exceptionally talented young player. Such talent truly deserves the right platform,” Afridi wrote.

He announced that Aina would be included in the upcoming Zalmi Women League, an initiative created to provide a dedicated platform for aspiring female cricketers to showcase and develop their abilities.

Afridi also assured that Aina would receive complete cricket gear and access to quality training facilities to help refine her skills and pursue her ambitions in professional cricket.

The Zalmi Women League, launched under Pakistan Super League franchise initiatives, aims to empower young girls by offering structured opportunities in the sport and encouraging broader female participation.

Afridi further requested social media users to share Aina Wazir’s contact details so the team can reach out to her directly.

Her story has also highlighted a broader issue raised by local cricket fans and community members, who say that children in the region possess immense talent but often lack proper opportunities and facilities to fully develop their skills.
