The KP Finance Department has flagged a case of alleged embezzlement in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Department during 2019–2026.

According to the KP Finance Department, the Divisional Forest Officer of the Swat Forest Department withdrew funds by increasing the amount on government cheques.

It was further revealed that the accused continued increasing his salary in official records over time.

The Finance Department said the accused transferred a total of Rs. 92.3 million (Rs. 9.23 crore) of government funds into his personal bank account. However, Rs. 9.3 million (Rs. 93 lac) has been recovered and deposited into the government treasury.

The Finance Department has directed the Forest Department to immediately register an FIR and initiate legal action. It also instructed that the accused be placed on the ECL and that recovery of the remaining amount be ensured.
