Sialkot Stallionz Owner Dismisses Viral Ownership Dispute Ahead of PSL 11

The ownership dispute surrounding Sialkot Stallionz appears to have eased after franchise owner Hamza Majeed publicly rejected claims circulating on social media, calling them misleading and unrelated to the team’s participation in the Pakistan Super League.

Responding to a viral video, Majeed clarified that the allegations had no connection to the PSL franchise. He said discussions regarding ownership structure had taken place in the past, but stressed that no formal agreements were finalized and no payments were made to either the Pakistan Cricket Board or the PSL authorities.

He further dismissed claims of unauthorized share transfers, stating that reports suggesting secret or illegal sale of franchise shares were false and baseless. According to Majeed, the Stallionz remain fully operational and focused on preparations for the upcoming PSL season.

The clarification follows claims made by Mohammad Shahid, who alleged that he held a 76 percent majority stake in the franchise. Shahid accused Majeed of selling shares without his consent or legal approval, a claim that sparked speculation online about the franchise’s original acquisition and investor intentions.

Earlier this month, Alpha Sports Group officially partnered with OZ Group, acquiring a 75 percent stake in the franchise following the PSL team auction. The partnership aims to strengthen squad development, performance standards, and long-term franchise growth ahead of PSL 11.

OZ Group, co-owned by Hamza Majeed and Kamil Khan, secured the Sialkot Stallionz franchise at the PSL 2026 auction held at the Jinnah Convention Centre with a record bid of Rs. 1.85 billion. The purchase stands as the most expensive franchise acquisition in PSL history, underscoring growing investor confidence in the league.

Both Alpha Sports Group and OZ Group, which are based in Australia, bring financial strength and sports management experience to the Stallionz project, with franchise officials insisting that ownership matters are settled and will not impact the team’s PSL 11 campaign.
