Pak Leather Crafts Limited (PSX: PAKL) has announced that its Board of Directors has approved applying for membership of the Leather Working Group (LWG), a UK-based international audit and certification body, as part of efforts to strengthen its export footprint.
The decision was taken during the board meeting held on February 20, 2026, according to a filing made to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Thursday.
LWG sets internationally recognized standards to certify all stages of the leather supply chain, from raw hide sourcing to finished leather production. Certification by LWG is considered a key requirement for supplying to many global brands and retailers, particularly in the United States and Europe, where responsible and sustainable sourcing practices are strongly emphasized.
The company said that obtaining LWG certification would allow it to access international supply chains that are currently out of reach, thereby directly supporting higher export opportunities for Pakistan’s leather manufacturing sector.
Pak Leather Crafts expects the move to enhance its compliance profile and competitiveness in global markets, aligning its operations with international sustainability and audit benchmarks.
