Sindh Decides to Introduce More Buses in Karachi

The Sindh government has decided to add more buses to Karachi’s public transport fleet in a bid to improve commuting facilities across the city.

The decision was made during a high level meeting of the Transport and Mass Transit Department chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. Officials reviewed progress on ongoing projects, including the Red Line Bus Rapid Transit corridor, and discussed steps to enhance passenger convenience.

Sharjeel Inam Memon directed authorities to accelerate the induction of new buses and select routes where residents face the greatest travel difficulties. He said expanding bus services would provide citizens with safer, affordable, and reliable transport options.

The minister also called for a more effective public awareness campaign on development projects to ensure that citizens receive timely information and face minimal disruption during construction activities.

During the meeting, he ordered the immediate start of construction work on the second portion of the Senator Taj Haider Bridge and instructed relevant departments to take prompt action.

Officials said the Sindh government is committed to building a modern and efficient public transport system in Karachi. They added that the launch of additional buses alongside BRT projects is expected to bring meaningful improvements to daily commuting in the city.
