vivo has unveiled the V70 Elite as the most advanced midrange device in its V series lineup, introducing upgrades in performance, imaging hardware, and battery capacity. It not only brings a former flagship chip, but better camera sensors and more cooling as well.
Design and Display
The V70 Elite is built around a 6.59-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and an adaptive refresh rate that scales up to 120Hz. The screen reaches a peak local brightness of 5,000 nits.
The phone carries IP68 and IP69 certifications for resistance against dust and water. It is offered in Black, Red, and Sand Beige color options.
Internals and Software
At its core, the device runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, a major upgrade from the usual mid-range chips the Vivo V series is known for. It is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1, an upgrade from the Vivo V60’s UFS 2.2.
The V70 Elite operates on OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. vivo has pledged four major Android version upgrades along with six years of security patch support.
Camera
On the rear, the smartphone houses a triple camera system. The primary sensor is a 50MP Sony LYT 700V measuring 1/1.56 inch, with a 23mm equivalent focal length, f/1.88 aperture, and optical image stabilization. This is a newer camera sensor compared to previous V series phones.
The telephoto unit also features a 50MP sensor, the Sony IMX882, sized at 1/1.95 inch. It delivers 3x optical zoom with a 73mm equivalent focal length, an f/2.65 aperture, and optical image stabilization.
An 8MP ultrawide lens with a 15mm equivalent focal length completes the rear camera array.
Battery and Pricing
The device is powered by a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery and supports 90W wired charging.
The V70 Elite starts at $571 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. The 12GB RAM and 512GB storage version is priced at $681.
