Vivo has introduced the V70, carrying over several key features from the V60 while refining the design and display. The device brings structural changes, a new fingerprint sensor, and camera upgrades, while keeping the same chipset.
Design and Display
The V70 moves to a flat 6.59 inch OLED panel with a resolution of 1,260 x 2,750 pixels, replacing the previous 6.77 inch quad curved screen. The new display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and remains a 10-bit panel. Peak global brightness rises to 1,800 nits from 1,500 nits, while peak local brightness remains at 5,000 nits.
The smaller display contributes to a narrower body at 74.3mm wide, compared to 77.0mm on the V60. The phone is also slimmer at 7.4mm or 7.6mm, depending on the color option, down from 7.5mm or 7.8mm. Weight drops to 187g or 194g, compared to 192g or 201g previously.
Durability remains a focus. The V70 carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for resistance to dust, water, and high-pressure water jets. It has been drop tested from 1.8 meters. The display is protected by Schott Xensation Core glass.
The chassis now uses a 6-series aluminum alloy frame instead of plastic. The frame undergoes multiple polishing stages to achieve its final finish. The phone is available in Authentic Black, which is the thinnest and lightest version, as well as Canary Yellow, Alpine Gray, and Sandalwood Brown.
Internals and Software
The phone continues to use the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset found in the V60. It is available with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage.
The V70 launches with Android 16 and OriginOS 6. vivo has committed to six years of OS updates and security patches. By comparison, the V60 received six years of security updates but four years of OS upgrades.
Cameras
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization, now using the Sony LYT 700V 1/1.56 inch sensor. It is paired with a 50MP telephoto camera using a 1/1.95-inch sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Video recording improves to 4K at 60fps, up from 4K at 30fps on the V60.
The main and telephoto cameras support five portrait focal lengths: 23mm at 1x for landscape portraits, 35mm at 1.5x for street portraits, 50mm at 2.2x for classic framing, 85mm at 3.7x, and 100mm at 4.3x for close-ups. The camera system also offers ZEISS-style bokeh modes.
Battery and Pricing
The V70 retains the 6,500mAh semi-solid battery technology. Vivo states it can deliver 11 hours of PUBG gameplay or five hours of 4K video recording at 60fps. The battery is designed to operate in extreme temperatures, running Google Maps for 10 hours at 40°C and for eight hours at -20°C. Charging is handled by a 90W wired FlashCharge.
The vivo V70 will launch soon in Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, which hopefully means Pakistan as well. Pricing details have not yet been announced.
