Over 10,000 Motorcyclists Fined in Lahore in Three Days

City Traffic Police Lahore intensified its crackdown on traffic violations over the past three days, issuing thousands of fines and impounding vehicles across the city. Police fined 10,982 motorcyclists for riding without helmets and issued challans to 5,389 vehicles for one way violations.

Officers also impounded 1,536 motorcycles during the operation. In addition, they impounded 753 vehicles involved in one way violations and fined 1,754 vehicles for breaching lane discipline, taking 245 of them into custody.

The traffic police also targeted vehicles with fake, tampered, or missing number plates. Officers issued 1,495 challans in such cases and impounded 208 vehicles as part of the campaign.

Authorities registered cases against 16 individuals at different police stations for wrong parking, causing traffic obstruction, setting up illegal parking stands, and creating encroachments on roads.

Athar Waheed directed officers to continue strict and impartial enforcement against road blockages, illegal parking, and encroachments to maintain smooth traffic flow in Lahore.

He said preventing road accidents remains the top priority and added that traffic police personnel remain deployed around the clock to assist commuters and ensure safe travel.
