Sui Southern Gas Company has denied reports of gas suspension in different parts of Karachi, stating that the city’s overall supply remains stable.
In a statement, the company said claims about widespread gas shutdowns are unfounded. It added that no such complaints about area wide closures have been received on its helpline 1199.
The company explained that in some neighborhoods, the use of compressors in certain homes can lower gas pressure for nearby consumers, which may give the impression of a shortage.
Sui Southern said gas demand increases during Ramadan and that it is working to maintain supply from 3:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. throughout the holy month.
