Police in Rawalpindi sealed a private laboratory at the request of the District Health Authority after it was found issuing fake vaccination certificates to people planning to travel abroad.
During the operation, police took three employees into custody and confiscated documents, fake stamps, and other materials from the laboratory, which is located on Murree Road in the city.
According to officials, the employees issued vaccination certificates even though they were not authorized to do so.
The District Health Authority said the suspects had issued more than 2,600 fake certificates so far. Each certificate was reportedly sold for Rs. 7,000.
Authorities said the operation uncovered an organized gang involved in the illegal issuance of the certificates. The arrested individuals are accused of violating the Punjab Hepatitis Act.
