Punjab has become the first province in the country to establish the Provincial Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment Centre (PIFTAC), aimed at strengthening intelligence coordination and improving law and order.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited the newly established center and was given a comprehensive briefing on PIFTAC’s operational framework and the overall security situation in the province.
During the briefing, several major initiatives were approved:
A special monitoring dashboard has also been introduced for deputy commissioners across all districts to ensure effective oversight and protection of citizens’ lives and property.
The chief minister also directed the creation of an AI hub within PIFTAC to enhance cybersecurity and intelligence capabilities.
Emphasizing proactive governance, Maryam Nawaz instructed authorities to adopt a pre-emptive strategy against terrorism rather than responding after incidents occur.
She reiterated the government’s commitment to making Punjab the safest province in the country, stating that all available resources will be utilized to ensure public safety.
