Citi Pharma Limited has received approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan to reserve the name for its proposed REIT management company, marking its entry into the real estate investment sector.
The company plans to establish “CITI REIT Management Company Limited” as a wholly owned subsidiary.
The move signals a strategic diversification by Citi Pharma beyond its core pharmaceutical business into real estate and capital markets.
The company said it will now proceed with the incorporation and regulatory approvals required to launch a Real Estate Investment Trust.
Under the proposed structure, Citi Pharma plans to undertake three major real estate development projects.
These include a project at Halli Road Lahore, another on company-owned land at Khayaban-e-Zafar Lahore, and a third near Islamabad International Airport.
The total value of land to be contributed as investment in the REIT is estimated at around Rs. 7 billion. This amount represents the valuation of land assets that will form the foundation of the investment structure.
The company expects to generate returns not only through land value realization but also through dividends from the REIT, providing a recurring income stream.
The projects are subject to regulatory approvals and are expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of financial year 2026 to 2027.
