Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Home Minister of Sindh, has directed authorities to utilize drone surveillance in potentially sensitive areas of Karachi when required and ordered the establishment of a dedicated Drone Surveillance Unit.
Chairing a review meeting on the overall law and order situation at the Central Police Office Karachi, the minister stressed the urgent need to further upgrade and modernize the Special Branch.
He announced that the Special Branch would be assigned a frontline role in counterterrorism efforts, aligning it with contemporary security requirements.
Lanjar also directed that Intelligence Reports (IRs), particularly those concerning border areas, be made more purposeful and effective to ensure peace and stability.
