According to a police spokesperson, cases have been registered against the suspects at several police stations, including Gakhar Mandi, Wazirabad Saddar, Ahmed Nagar, and Gujranwala Cantonment.

Investigators launched the action after conducting a forensic analysis of the mobile phone data of Sajid alias Saju Khan.

The data allegedly revealed that the policemen leaked sensitive information and supported the drug dealer by misusing their official positions.

Police also recovered a large quantity of hashish from the arrested officials.

Authorities said further investigation is underway.

In a separate development, the Federal Investigation Agency arrested two illegal money changers during a crackdown on Hundi and Hawala networks in the Gujranwala region.

An FIA team from the Gujrat circle raided a location near Makkah Marriage Hall on Kharian Road in Dinga and arrested suspects Umer and Atif Raza.

The FIA registered a case against the suspects under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1947, and the Pakistan Penal Code.

During the raid, officials recovered a large amount of local and foreign currency, 10 blank bank cheques, eight ATM cards, and four mobile phones.
