Iranian Govt Orders All Citizens to Leave Capital Tehran

Iran’s National Security Council has advised residents to leave the capital, Tehran, as the Israel-Iran conflict escalates sharply following fresh strikes on the city and other key locations.

The evacuation advisory comes after a major escalation earlier today, when Israel launched missile attacks on Tehran. The situation intensified further when US President Donald Trump said the United States had also carried out attacks on Iran in coordination with Israel.

Reports say the latest wave of strikes targeted sensitive state and security locations in and around Tehran, with claims that areas linked to Iran’s top leadership were also hit.

Iran has responded with retaliation beyond its borders, launching missile and drone attacks toward Israeli cities and expanding strikes to US-linked sites across the Gulf. Earlier reports described Iranian ballistic missile attacks on US bases in the region, including locations in Qatar and Kuwait, triggering air defense activity and widespread alerts.

The fallout has been felt across multiple Gulf states. Explosions and interceptions were reported in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar, with several countries moving to close airspace as the threat environment widened. In the UAE, authorities said shrapnel from intercepted missiles fell in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing damage and killing one person.

Qatar has also condemned the missile attack on its territory, calling it a serious violation of sovereignty and an unacceptable escalation, and said it reserves the right to respond in line with international law. Reports have also indicated a second round of missile activity involving Qatar.

With Tehran now under an evacuation advisory and regional capitals on heightened alert, the crisis is rapidly expanding from direct strikes into a wider regional security emergency.

This is a developing story.
