Pakistan’s Embassy in Azerbaijan has issued a fresh travel advisory for Pakistani nationals crossing from Iran into Azerbaijan via the Astara border, urging travelers to prepare for harsh weather conditions as regional tensions continue to intensify.
In its guidance, the embassy warned that night temperatures in the border area can drop to near-freezing levels, asking travelers to dress accordingly and take extra precautions during transit.
Pakistanis heading toward Astara have been advised to wear warm, layered clothing and carry essentials such as caps and gloves, with special care recommended for children and elderly passengers.
The embassy also said its teams are present on the ground to facilitate crossings and assist Pakistani citizens as they move onward after entering Azerbaijan.
The advisory comes as the wider region remains on edge due to escalating conflict, with ongoing missile strikes and attacks on U.S. bases contributing to an uncertain security environment and increasing pressure on evacuation and transit routes.
Pakistani nationals planning to travel through Astara have been urged to stay prepared for delays, follow official instructions at the crossing, and prioritize safety and weather protection during overnight movement.
