The Special Branch has conducted a security audit of international food chain outlets in Rawalpindi and recommended immediate steps to address gaps in safety arrangements amid the prevailing security situation.
Sources said Special Branch field staff carried out a survey of two outlets located in the New Town police area. At one outlet, only a single security guard was deployed at the entrance, while the second outlet had no security guard present at the time of inspection.
Following the assessment, the branch recommended strengthening security at both locations.
The recommendations include deploying additional guards, introducing an effective checking mechanism at entry points, and increasing vigilance to prevent any untoward incident.
Police have already placed the garrison city on high alert, increasing patrols and deploying additional personnel around sensitive installations.
