Xiaomi has announced a recall of a small batch of its Xiaomi 33W Power Bank 20000mAh (Integrated Cable) after identifying a potential overheating issue.
According to the company, the recall affects units with model number PB2030MI that were manufactured between August and September 2024. Xiaomi said the issue is linked to problems identified in certain raw materials supplied by vendors.
Under specific usage conditions, the affected power banks may malfunction and cause battery overheating, which could potentially lead to a fire hazard. Xiaomi noted that the number of reported incidents is small, but the recall has been initiated to maintain high product quality and safety standards.
Xiaomi apologized to users for any inconvenience caused and reiterated its commitment to providing safe, reliable, and high-quality products to customers worldwide.
The company has asked affected users to follow the official steps provided by Xiaomi to take part in the recall process.
How to Check Your Power Bank
In order to check if your power bank is affected by the manufacturing issue, you need to identify the SN code, usually given on the back of the device. This can be found in various sections of the text printed on the rear, depending on the version of your product.
This is where you need to look.
You can enter this SN code at Xiaomi’s website to confirm whether your power bank is part of the recall.
