The Sindh government will distribute free pink electric scooters to selected women at a ceremony scheduled for March 8, marking International Women’s Day.
Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon said the initiative aims to improve women’s access to safe and reliable transportation.
According to the minister, women selected under the scheme will receive electric scooters along with training in road safety and scooter riding so they can use the vehicles safely. Memon said the program has been introduced to support safe and independent mobility for women.
He added that the initiative forms part of the provincial government’s efforts to facilitate women and promote environmentally friendly transport.
The minister said the government intends to introduce similar initiatives in the future to support women and expand sustainable transportation in the province.
