Rupee Rises Higher Against US Dollar Despite Global Crisis

The Pakistani rupee (PKR) closed in green against the US Dollar (USD) for the 115th consecutive day on Monday.

Meanwhile, it posted gains against most of the other major currencies during today’s session.

The PKR closed at 279.37 after gaining three paisas against the US Dollar today.

The PKR has continued to grow against the greenback during the ongoing energy crisis across the globe. According to the Wall Street Journal, this is the most severe energy crisis since the 1970s, with significant disruptions to global oil and LNG supplies.

Other Currencies

PKR closed in green against both the UAE Dirham (AED) and the Saudi Riyal (SAR).

Meanwhile, it gained 85 paisas against the British Pound (GBP) and Rs. 1.68 against the Euro (EUR).

It gained Rs. 1.19 against the Australian Dollar (AUD) but lost Rs. 1.42 against the Canadian Dollar (CAD).
