The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad has cancelled all immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments scheduled between March 9 and March 13, according to an announcement issued by the embassy.
The embassy stated that visa applicants affected by the cancellations will receive email instructions regarding the rescheduling of their appointments.
Despite the suspension of visa appointments during this period, the embassy confirmed that it will continue to provide routine as well as emergency consular services to U.S. citizens in Islamabad.
The announcement also said that all consular services at the U.S. Consulates General in Karachi and Lahore remain suspended, with no timeline provided for the restoration of operations at those locations.
Applicants have been advised to monitor their email for further communication regarding new appointment dates and related instructions.
