FBR Exempts Itself from Extra Weekly Holiday and Work-From-Home Policy

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced that the government’s work-from-home policy allowing up to 50 percent of staff to work remotely on alternate days will not apply to FBR headquarters or its field formations.

According to an urgent notification issued by the Revenue Division, all FBR offices will continue operating normally, including on Fridays.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the Committee for Monitoring and Implementation of Conservation and Additional Austerity Measures held on March 11, 2026.

Under the notification, the earlier restriction introduced by the Cabinet Division, which allowed up to 50 percent of government employees to work from home on alternate days, will not be implemented in FBR offices.

Officials stated that all members of FBR headquarters, directors general, and heads of field formations have been directed to strictly follow the decision and ensure full office attendance.
