The Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad, has approved the launch of a Master of Science in Computer Science (MS Computer Science) program at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University (SBBU).
The development marks another academic milestone for the institution under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Madad Ali Shah, who has been working to strengthen higher education and research at the university.
The university’s Computer Science Department, which has already been operating successfully, will now offer the new postgraduate program following formal approval from HEC.
In addition to this, the university has also secured approval to introduce a Master of Science in English Linguistics (MS English Linguistics) program in the Department of English. The launch of these programs is expected to further enhance academic and research activities at the university.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Madad Ali Shah said that the university’s main objective is to promote quality higher education and research and to ensure that students receive academic opportunities aligned with modern educational and professional requirements.
He added that the introduction of the new postgraduate programs will expand opportunities for students to pursue higher education and research. According to him, these programs will also play an important role in improving the standard of higher education in the region.
The Vice Chancellor expressed optimism that faculty members and students will work together to achieve success in the areas of knowledge, research, and innovation.
He also emphasized that these efforts will help position Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University among the leading educational institutions in the country.
