Govt Revises Passport Office Timings to Save Fuel

The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has revised the working schedule of passport offices across Pakistan under the government’s austerity and fuel conservation policy.

According to the new schedule issued by the department, passport offices will now operate four days a week, remaining open from Monday to Thursday.

Officials said the change was introduced as part of the government’s fuel-saving measures aimed at reducing energy consumption amid current economic and regional challenges.

However, regional passport offices that operate 24 hours a day will continue functioning as usual, ensuring that essential passport services remain available to the public.

Under the revised schedule, the Islamabad Asaan Khidmat Center will maintain its existing shift system to facilitate applicants.

The new working hours have been implemented with the approval of the Director General of Immigration and Passports, according to the official notification.
