Metro Bus Service Suspended in Twin Cities

Metro bus service in Rawalpindi and Islamabad has been suspended for one day due to rallies planned for Youm-e-Quds, authorities said.

According to the administration, the decision was made because of security concerns related to the Youm-e-Quds “Support for the Oppressed” rallies.

Officials said the temporary suspension of the metro bus service aims to ensure public safety and provide a secure environment for participants in the rallies.

Reports indicate that one rally will start from Darbar Sakhi Mahmood, while another will begin from Imambargah Ashiq Hussain Teli Mohalla and proceed toward Murree Road.

Traffic flow on major roads is also expected to be affected because of the rallies.

As part of security arrangements, additional police and other law enforcement personnel have been deployed across the twin cities. Monitoring at sensitive locations has been increased, and special security measures have been put in place along the rally routes.

Authorities have advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel and use alternative routes to reduce potential traffic problems during the day.
