SBP Announces Bank Holiday on 23 March

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that it will remain closed on March 23, 2026 (Monday) in observance of Pakistan Day next week.

According to a statement issued by the central bank, the closure will be observed as a public holiday declared by the Government of Pakistan.

Accordingly, all offices of the State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on the specified date. Commercial banks will also remain closed on the occasion.

The Cabinet Division releases a list of all public holidays throughout the year. According to the list, March 23rd will be observed as a public holiday across the country.

Pakistan Day is celebrated annually on March 23 to commemorate the Lahore Resolution of 1940, which laid the foundation for the creation of Pakistan.
