Pakistan’s Large-Scale Manufacturing Up By Nearly 6% in Seven Months of FY26

Pakistan’s Large Scale Manufacturing (LSM) Index recorded a 10.5 percent year-on-year (YoY) increase in January 2026, while posting a strong 12.1 percent month-on-month (MoM) growth.

During the first seven months of FY26 (7MFY26), the LSM index grew by 5.8 percent YoY.

The growth in January was driven primarily by a 67 percent YoY surge in automobile production, alongside 24 percent YoY growth in sugar, 11 percent YoY growth in garments, and 11 percent YoY growth in cement.

However, some sectors recorded declines during the month. Furniture output fell 19.4 percent YoY, while Machinery and Equipment declined by 8.87 percent. Output in Leather Products was also down 2.94 percent YoY in January 2026.
