Abbottabad secured a place in the National T20 Cup 2026 final after their rain-affected second semi-final against Lahore Whites ended without a result at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium.
Batting first, Lahore Whites posted a competitive 194-6 in their 20 overs after a steady start. Openers Mohammad Ikhlaq and Mohammad Faiq laid a solid foundation with a brisk 38-run partnership before Faiq was dismissed for 18 off 11 balls, including two fours and a six, by Shahab Khan.
Ikhlaq then combined with Mohammad Imran to maintain momentum and take the team past the 50-run mark. Imran played an aggressive innings, scoring a well-crafted half-century to anchor the side.
Their 64-run partnership ended when Ikhlaq was run out by Afaq Khan after scoring 42 off 35 deliveries, which included six fours, leaving Lahore Whites at 102-2 in 11.2 overs.
Soon after, Imran departed for a crucial 62 off 31 balls, hitting three fours and five sixes, as Shahab claimed his second wicket. In the same over, Tayyab Tahir was dismissed for two, again by Shahab, reducing Lahore Whites to 127-4 in 13.3 overs.
Farhan Yousaf and Muhammad Mohsin added valuable runs in the final overs to boost the total. Mohsin scored 24 off 16 deliveries, including one four and two sixes, before being dismissed by Fayaz Khan with the score at 163-5 in 17 overs.
Shahab continued his impressive performance, taking his fourth wicket by removing captain Aamer Jamal for just one run. Lahore Whites finished at 194-6, with Farhan remaining unbeaten on 33 off 19 balls, striking six fours, while Ahmed Daniyal added five off three balls.
Shahab was the standout bowler, finishing with figures of 4 for 28 in four overs, while Fayaz Khan picked up one wicket.
Abbottabad’s chase of 195 never began due to persistent rain, and the match was declared a no result.
As a result, Abbottabad advanced to the final against Karachi Whites based on their higher position on the points table at the end of the group stage.
The National T20 Cup 2026 final is scheduled to be played at the same venue on Wednesday.
