He directed officials to ensure indiscriminate action against professional beggars to curb the growing issue.

The CCPO also instructed institutions such as the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau and the Social Welfare Department to play an active role in the rehabilitation of child beggars, aiming to rescue them from the network and provide them with a better future.

Authorities are also using cameras of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority to identify professional beggars at major roads and intersections.

Meanwhile, traffic police have been directed to intensify operations at traffic signals and main roads to curb begging activities.

Police officials said the campaign will become more effective with public cooperation, helping authorities eliminate professional begging from the city.
