The Sindh government has decided to introduce a watermarking system in examination papers to trace those involved in leaks and curb malpractice. Sindh Minister for Universities and Boards Muhammad Ismail Rahoo announced the decision while chairing a meeting on preparations for the upcoming examinations.
Officials reviewed arrangements at examination centers, including security, furniture, drinking water, electricity supply and anti-cheating measures. They also received a briefing on procurement, tenders and budget.
Rahoo directed all board chairpersons to ensure transparent and timely conduct of examinations and warned that authorities will not tolerate negligence. He warned that the government will take strict action against the relevant board chairman if any paper leak occurs.
Across Sindh, 1,353,258 students from grades 9 to 12 will appear in examinations starting April 7, with more than 1,600 examination centers established. Karachi will begin exams for grades 9 and 10 on April 7, while exams for grades 11 and 12 will start on April 25.
Sukkur division will begin exams for grades 9 and 10 on March 30, followed by grades 11 and 12 from April 15. Authorities will conduct all exams in Sukkur and Shaheed Benazirabad divisions under an e-marking system.
