Deadline for Govt’s Digital Super App Extended With Tech Firms Caught Sleeping

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MOITT) has announced an extension in the proposal submission deadline for the National Unified Super App project, a key initiative aimed at transforming digital public service delivery in Pakistan.

Originally set for March 31, 2026, the deadline has now been extended to April 10, 2026. The move follows a response to the initial call for proposals that fell short of expectations in terms of participation.

The National Unified Super App and Web Portal, being developed under the Digital Economy Enhancement Project (DEEP), is a flagship initiative supported by the World Bank. The platform is designed to provide citizens with seamless access to a wide range of public services, including license renewals, tax filing, and permit applications, all through a single digital platform.

The super app aims to streamline government services, improve user experience, and enhance transparency, marking a major step in Pakistan’s digital transformation journey. It will offer 24/7 access to services on both mobile and web platforms and will be available in multiple languages to ensure broader inclusivity.

The platform will also integrate with Pakistan’s National Digital Identity system, including NADRA’s digital ID, for secure authentication. Additional features will include personalized dashboards and a single sign-on system linked with national IDs, significantly reducing the need for in-person visits to government offices.

Aligned with Pakistan’s national digital strategies, including the Cloud First policy and e-Government standards, the platform is being designed to remain scalable and adaptable for future needs. Its microservices-based architecture will allow integration of new services and third party solutions while improving workflow automation, communication, and service delivery.
