Vivo has officially introduced the X300 Ultra, continuing the same overall direction as previous Ultra models while refining the camera system with updated hardware and software.
The phone keeps the same core camera approach with a 14mm ultrawide, 35mm main camera, and 85mm telephoto setup. At the same time, Vivo has added changes across imaging, display, performance, and battery.
Design and Display
It keeps a design that is largely similar to its predecessor. On the front, it features a 6.82-inch Ultra XDR AMOLED display with a resolution of 3168 x 1440 pixels and a 1Hz to 144Hz refresh rate.
On the side, Vivo has removed the capacitive camera button for a cleaner design.
The phone will be available in Green, Silver, and Black.
Internals and Software
The X300 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It comes with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM.
Vivo has also developed a new Photography App for the device. It includes a 3D LUT library with different color styles. The phone supports 3D LUT import and Vivo’s Multi-Focal 4K Master Color Video system, which is based on the company’s new color science.
That color system starts with a new True Color Lens with 12 spectral channels, designed to deliver pixel-level color and tonal accuracy. It also uses a Smooth EV dynamic compression algorithm to process multi-frame HDR data, preserve highlights, and protect tones. Vivo says the system can then adjust results based on the creator’s preferred style, including filmic or vivid output.
Cameras
The Vivo X300 Ultra continues to use a three-camera setup built around 14mm, 35mm, and 85mm focal lengths.
The 14mm ultrawide camera uses the same large 1/1.28-inch sensor introduced on the previous model.
The 85mm telephoto camera keeps a 200MP 1/1.4-inch format, but it now uses Samsung’s newer ISOCELL HP0 sensor. According to Vivo, this brings autofocus speeds that are twice as fast, with 60 autofocus updates per second, along with lower power consumption. The camera also introduces 3-degree Gimbal-Grade OIS, which Vivo says achieves a CIPA 7.0 stabilization rating. Its lens has an f/2.67 aperture, which is a downgrade compared to last year’s model.
The main camera remains a 35mm unit, but it now uses a larger 1/1.12-inch 200MP Sony Lytia 901 sensor, compared with the previous 1/1.28-inch 50MP sensor. Vivo says this brings a sensor size close to 1 inch and four times the resolution. The lens uses a new 1G+6P coating technology that, according to the company, reduces reflectivity by 20%. The main camera also carries a CIPA 6.5 stabilization rating and has an f/1.85 aperture.
Vivo has also introduced two teleconverters for the 200MP telephoto camera. These include the 400mm 17.4x teleconverter called the Cannon 400 and the smaller 200mm 8.7x teleconverter called the Lipstick 200. The company has also announced a new Vivo Imaging Grip Kit.
On the video side, the X300 Ultra adds several new features. All cameras now support optical image stabilization, with the telephoto offering the strongest stabilization. The phone also supports multi-focal 4K 120fps 10-bit Log video recording. Vivo’s log format is compatible with the ACES professional post-production workflow.
Battery and Pricing
The Vivo X300 Ultra includes a 6,600mAh battery with support for 100W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless FlashCharge.
The phone will launch in China first and will later be released globally, marking the first global rollout for a Vivo Ultra model.
It will be offered in 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB versions. The 1TB model will support satellite communication.
Vivo has confirmed the storage options and rollout plan, but pricing details were not included.
