Heavy Rain Triggers Landslides Across Murree

Heavy rain over the past five days has triggered landslides in different parts of Murree, disrupting daily life and damaging homes and roads in affected areas.

One of the worst-hit locations was Jhika Gali, where several houses were damaged after land slipped in the area. A number of key roads were also affected, creating problems for traffic and local movement.

According to the highways department, the impacted roads have been cleared and work is underway to fully restore traffic flow as quickly as possible.

Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi said relief activities had already been launched for affected families. He said ration, tents, blankets, and clean drinking water were being provided, adding that the administration was fully supporting residents during the crisis.

He further said a building had been allocated in Jhika Gali for immediate accommodation, while two affected families had been shifted to rented houses.

The deputy commissioner said all relevant departments had been put on alert, rescue teams were present in the field, and administrative officers were continuously monitoring the affected areas to prevent further damage.
