Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the administration to remain on high alert as heavy rainfall is forecast across Lahore and other parts of Punjab.
In an official statement, the chief minister instructed authorities to ensure the full utilization of the Water and Sanitation Agency’s resources to effectively manage rainwater accumulation in urban areas.
She also ordered the deployment of modern machinery and equipment to ensure the swift drainage of rainwater and prevent flooding in low-lying areas.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that since the establishment of WASA, citizens should experience relief and convenience during heavy rainfall, adding that authorities must ensure efficient drainage operations across all districts of the province.
